OUR MINISTRY TEAM

Reverend ANDREW SHEARD, RECTOR

Andrew moved to Emsworth in February 2018 to take up the position of Rector.

Brought up in a strongly Christian household, he never doubted that he would in some way commit his working life to God.  However, before he was ordained, he had a successful career in marketing.

A keen triathlete in the past, he is now a fan of kayaking and paddleboarding!

Reverend JULIE PRICE, ASSOCIATE MINISTER

Julie grew up just down the road in Bosham and qualified as a diagnostic & radiotherapeutic radiographer.  She moved abroad for several years but returned to Emsworth where she became an active member of our congregation.

Participating in an Alpha course took her down the path towards her ordination in 2010.  She joined the Parish Ministry team in 2014, where she assists predominantly at St Thomas à Becket church.  Since 2013 she has also been Hospice Chaplain at St Wilfrid’s Hospice, near Chichester.

Reverend JO NORTHEY, PIONEER & FAMILIES MINISTER

Jo has lived all over the UK and has been a science teacher, a surgical skills co-ordinator and Youth Worker.  Our Parish now benefits from all of that experience as she explores ways to support community needs.

She represents the Parish on the committee of the Emsworth Residents’ Association and coordinates the Teas in the Park project in Southleigh Park in Emsworth.

JAMES MANT, LAY MINISTER

James is also a local lad; his father managed a Bosham boatyard and his grandfather and great grandfather owned shops in Emsworth.  He served in the Royal Navy for thirty years as an electrical engineer and then spent ten years in Defence Research.  He was licensed as a Lay Minister in 2019.

James’ ministry in the Parish is mainly involved with older people and he is also a regular volunteer at the Pastoral Centre in Emsworth and with Emsworth Good Neighbours.
