EASTER

Lent & Easter are an important part of the Christian calendar

Holy Week starts on Palm Sunday and continues through Maundy Thursday and into Good Friday.  It culminates in the Easter Vigil which takes place sometime on the evening of Holy Saturday (the day before Easter Day, which is always on a Sunday).

On Easter Sunday churches celebrate because Jesus died for our sins and then rose again.

EASTER SERVICES

We have services on Zoom (Maundy Thursday), in St James Church  (Good Friday and Easter Sunday) and in St Thomas a Becket, Warblington (Easter Sunday).  You will need to pre-book your place at our church services and the link to the online booking form can be found on our home page.

There will also be an Easter Sunday service online.

FAMILY FRIENDLY EASTER TRAIL

Sunday 28th March – Sunday 4th April

This fun trail will link the churches in Emsworth and is aimed at families with younger children.  The goal is to find the eggs, follow the Easter Story, and complete challenges along the way.  There will be modest prizes for those who complete the trail.

GOOD FRIDAY PRAYER WALK

Friday 2nd April

This year, five stations (one at each of Emsworth’s churches) will offer us all an opportunity for reflection and prayer throughout Good Friday.

EASTER CROSS IN ST PETER’S SQUARE

Friday 2nd April & Sunday 4th April

On Good Friday, the Easter Cross will be a place to come and remember Jesus and also to remember loved ones who have died in the last year.  Those who come to the cross will have the opportunity to add names of loved ones they have lost.  If you email the name of someone you wish to be remembered to parishofficewwe@gmail.com we will prepare a small cross in advance with their name on, to display on the large cross.

On Easter Sunday the cross will be transformed by an abundance of colour as we celebrate the hope of the Resurrection.
