Latest News on Church Re-opening

Opening for Sunday Services
We are thankful to be allowed to open for Sunday services from 5 th July, but with careful social distancing, hand cleaning and other safety precautions.
We will have one service in each church on a Sunday:

10am in St. James, Emsworth

11am in St. Thomas a Becket, Warblington

Social distancing means that we have to limit the numbers in each Church building and therefore we reluctantly need to ask you to book in if you would like to come to the Church building.

Bookings open on Monday at 9am for the following Sunday. You can make a booking by email to parishofficewwe@gmail.com or by telephone on 07579 798010.

Opening for Personal Prayer
We are delighted to announce that both our churches are now open for personal prayer on Sundays from 2-4pm and Wednesdays from 12noon-4pm.

Join our services on line
We would be delighted to welcome you to our online services posted on this webpage every Sunday (and available all week). We also have a Zoom based service most Sunday mornings. If you would like to join us, please contact me on andrewf.sheard@btinternet.com for a link to Zoom.
We also have a dedicated phoneline where people can listen to these – 01243 957233.

The Parish consists of two churches – St. James’ Church in the heart of Emsworth and St. Thomas à Becket Church in quiet and beautiful surroundings at the end of Church Lane Warblington (see our Parish for maps and directions).

More importantly, we are a community of people who, inspired by God, seek to serve our local community and express the love that God has for all people. We aim to be a community that is welcoming, loving and faithful to God, which is all the more important in our current circumstances.

It is with great sadness that due to the Covid 19 outbreak, we are no longer able to hold our services and events that were planned for Becket 850.

We hope that when this crisis is over we will be able to either resume our programme or offer some alternative events.

Thomas à Becket Church is on Instagram and we hope to be able to post updates that will honour the spirit of our Becket 850 program.

In the meantime we hold all those in prayer who are working to keep us safe, who are guiding our nation at this time, for those who are fearful or vulnerable and for those who are ill or dying.
