Welcome to the parish of Warblington with Emsworth

Our vision is To see our lives and community transformed and renewed by encountering God and responding to His love

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the website of the Parish of Warblington with Emsworth. I hope you will find it both useful and enjoyable.

The Parish consists of two churches – St. James’ Church in the heart of Emsworth and St. Thomas à Becket Church in quiet and beautiful surroundings at the end of Church Lane Warblington (see our Parish for maps and directions).

More importantly, we are a community of people who, inspired by God, seek to serve our local community and express the love that God has for all people. We aim to be a community that is welcoming, loving and faithful to God, which is all the more important in our current circumstances.

Coronavirus Update

Regretfully in the light of the current situation we have suspended all public worship, events and group gatherings in the parish for the foreseeable future, and both churches are currently closed.

We are committed to continuing to pray for our community and our nation and will be providing resources to help with this online as soon as we are able. Each Sunday we will be recording a service so that we can come together in worship from the safety of own homes. To watch the latest service click here. You can also view the content of our Facebook Page, even if you don’t have a facebook account. We have also created a Digital Library that has services from previous weeks, messages from the Diocese of Portsmouth and some other resources that you might find helpful at this time.

We are also committed to providing practical help and support for any in our community who need it.

Please contact us on or by phone 07579 798010 if you or any neighbour that you know needs help.

We will aim to keep you updated regularly through this website and directly by email where appropriate. We will continue to update the website in the days and weeks to come, but none of our normal services or Becket 850 events will go ahead at this time.

It is with great sadness that due to the Covid 19 outbreak, we are no longer able to hold our services and events that were planned for Becket 850.
We hope that when this crisis is over we will be able to either resume our programme or offer some alternative events.
Thomas à Becket Church is on Instagram and we hope to be able to post updates that will honour the spirit of our Becket 850 program.
In the meantime we hold all those in prayer who are working to keep us safe, who are guiding our nation at this time, for those who are fearful or vulnerable and for those who are ill or dying.
