A family pilgrimage from Emsworth to Warblington.
Date and time: Sunday 10 May at 10.00am.
Description: This event is an opportunity to recreate the time when the inhabitants of Emsworth had no Anglican church and had to walk across the fields to Warblington for their weekly services. It is a family event and will start at Breakfast church in the Parish Hall Emsworth at 10am then those who wish to walk will follow the route down to the harbour along foreshore and fields with stops to reflect and pray as we journey together. The pilgrimage will be welcomed by the congregation of St Thomas à Becket at about 11.45 and there will be an activity for children. Please bring your picnic lunch.
We would welcome volunteers to drive the pilgrims back to their cars in Emsworth.
Starting St James Church hall, Church Path, Emsworth, PO10 7DP and ending at Thomas à Becket Church, Church Lane, Warblington, PO9 2TU.
Tickets: No tickets are required, all are welcome. There will be an opportunity to donate to our charities and to our fund for building a toilet. Because of the limitations of Wi-Fi in the area, we cannot take cards, but your cash will be very welcome! Please Gift Aid it if possible.
Refreshments: Please bring a picnic, teas and coffees will be provided.
Accessibility: There is some car parking at the end of the lane by the church, or park in Church Lane as you approach. The toilets are public ones in the cemetery. The church is accessible to all.
